Shoulder Instability
Labral tearThe labrum is the soft tissue bumper around the shoulder socket. Soft tissue injury is common in first and second time instability. Often this can be managed without surgery or with arthroscopic techiques. Historically it was managed with open anatomic and nonanatomic techniques.

Bone LossThis is a consequence of repetitive instability or dislocation after an attempted labral repair. This may be managed with arthroscopic techniques but often require open surgery to recreate or simulate the bony anatomy of the shoulder.
